Where is the church? A poem by Brendon Worth

Hey guys! So I am not a huge poetry guy but something not many people know is I have actually had a poem that I wrote published in a book of poetry. When I wrote that poem I wrote it because I heard the words in my head and felt like I supposed to write them down. That being said I felt the same thing happen today and thought I would share it with you all! I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think!

Where is the church? By: Brendon Worth

The world calls for justice and where is the church?

Caught in division only making things worse.

We fight ruthlessly over which party will win.

Yet we’re not concerned at all with our secret sin.

We fight our petty fights like its the right thing to do

Yet when God needs a voice he has to ask “Where are you?”

We are so concerned with always being right

That we have no energy to give to the cause of Christ

We continue to divide not concerned for our brothers

Even though the Word says don’t put yourself before others

We are supposed to be a threat the power of hell

Yet we’re to busy gossipping about the member who fell

Only a revival of the church can cure our ills

For this we must unite and reject the division that kills

We must repent and call on His name

If we do this He will send His Spirit and we will not the same

We must change our hearts and fall on our face

Then will we see an outpouring of His grace

If we turn to Jesus then will begin a Holy Shaking

A people ready to host the world for a third Great Awakening

Awakening brings justice to people near and far

The second one even helped empty the bars

When this comes people won’t have to ask where is the church

We will be a people united that help justice work
